Scheduling Conflicts

Well, it has been nearly a month since the overture of this blog and there has been no posting of substance. And there is a reason. As I previously have posted, I am a mobile, temporary healthcare professional with non-traditional hours. Translation: I work the night shift as a travel nurse and my schedule is prepared following the preparation of nurses who work for the hospital where I am, which often (and so far always) means I am scheduled to work weekends.

Dear Episcopal Church: Please start offering services besides the mid-morning Sunday service that include music. Thanks.

16th Sunday after Pentecost 2012

Planned services for this week:
  • Trinity Episcopal Church, Reno, NV
    • Saturday evening spoken Rite II Eucharist
  • A Unitarian Universalist service (it's my first ever UU service and it's only a few hours away and I stayed up too late... we'll see if I make it!)
  • Compline online at king.org at 9:30 p.m. pacific time
Look for updates on the two services, and maybe, though unlikely, a small commentary on the compline.

*update* the Unitarian service ended up not happening as a negative consequence of inappropriate timing on caffeine consumption the night before.

The EpiscoQUEST

Hello, World! It's the first post, so the statement is obligatory, right?

Welcome to my new blog, the EpiscoQUEST. I have never been very successful at journaling or blogging. I usually fail to post on a regular basis. If you know me, you can find various attempts at most of the major blogging sites from various points throughout my life. But, yet again, we'll give it a go.

The EpiscoQUEST, you say? Yes. I am a mobile, traveling professional. For my job I stay in one place for only a few months at a time, and then move on. So while I'm in a spot, I like to explore the various churches. Predominately Episcopal churches.
